The NOSM University Medical Oncology Training Program is Canada’s newest program in Medical Oncology. With 12 satellite chemotherapy sites and a sister site in Sault Ste. Marie, the program offers broad clinical exposure, managing 3,250 new cancer cases annually. Residents benefit from personalized mentorship by enthusiastic, early/mid-career oncologists and access to McMaster University’s structured academic curriculum, including core half-day teaching, clinical research training, and Molecular Oncology Rounds. With a resident-centered philosophy, abundant research opportunities, and a competency-based, flexible curriculum, NOSM empowers trainees to shape the program while gaining rich clinical experience.
Key Program Highlights:
The main teaching site will be Health Sciences North in Sudbury, with additional training opportunities across Northern Ontario such as Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay depending on resident interest. We have partnered with McMaster University for two mandatory training rotations in Hamilton for 1) Sarcoma, Clinical Trials, and Genetics and 2) Gynecologic and CNS malignancies.
