“So much operating! From day 1 of residency you’ll be routinely acting as first assist in the OR and getting plenty of opportunity to improve your surgical skills. Small residency program makes it a very close knit group with senior residents who are very approachable and always around to help you adjust to being a surgical resident. “

“Work really closely with staff right from the start so that everyone knows you and you can establish a very collegial relationship with everyone involved with the program. Start residency with a lot of on-service time, which allows you to get better a neurosurgery and meet your team. It also gives you a chance to get to know all the nursing/allied health staff that work with neurosurgery really early on so that you feel at home right from the start of residency!”
