Program Highlights

Our program offers comprehensive psychiatric training in a diversity of settings.  Subspecialty training is available in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.  We have particular strengths in medical education, research and psychotherapy.  While our recent accreditation results were “Intent to Withdraw”, we are well underway to addressing the areas of concern and anticipate regaining full accreditation.

Our incoming Chair is Dr. David Ross, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine.  The primary focus of his scholarly activities is on designing, implementing, and disseminating innovative educational resources. He is a Co-Founder and now the Executive Director of the National Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative  the goal of which is to improve the integration of cutting edge neuroscience into psychiatry. Through this work, he has helped create a set of shared curriculum resources that are now in use at more than 200 programs across the US and internationally.  Dr. Ross will bring his expertise to our residency program where we are continually building on our opportunities to better resident training.
