1. BC’s Children’s Hospital is the only pediatric tertiary care centre in the province of British Columbia; consequently, the Division of Respiratory Medicine provides care across the full range of pediatric respiratory diseases to all of the children across the province
2. Busy inpatient consultation service to the inpatient wards, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, emergency department and community  care providers; primary management of patients with cystic fibrosis, non-CF bronchiectasis, and children who are chronically ventilated patients
3. Multi-disciplinary clinics for cystic fibrosis, severe asthma, sleep medicine, primary ciliary dyskinesia, interstitial lung disease, respiratory/immunology and home ventilation as well as busy general respiratory consult clinic

3) THE FACILITIES

1. All consultants are trained in pediatric bronchoscopy and there is ample opportunity for trainees to gain flexible bronchoscopy experience.  We have dedicated OR days including a combined ENT/respiratory OR for patients with complex aerodigestive issues
2. Busy pulmonary function lab (>2500 tests/yr) and sleep lab (>300tests/yr)
3. Equipment to do the full breadth of lung function testing including multiple breath washout, nasal nitric oxide and oscillometry
4. Teck Acute Care Centre opened in 2017 and provides state of the art inpatient facilities

4) SUPPORT FOR TRAINEES

1. Staff members that are committed to training the next generation of pediatric respirologists with Education being one of the four pillars of our division (Clinical Care, Advocacy, Research, Education)
2. Funding to attend national or international conferences
3. Funding to attend a Bronchoscopy Training Course
4. Staff support to complete a range of scholarly projects including clinical research, care pathways or quality improvement
