Academic curriculum:

• Academic days:
  A mixture of didactic lectures focusing on the CCFP Key Priority topics, case rounds, ECG workshops, and a dedicated curriculum for Transition To Practice with tips on billing, efficiency, resilience, etc. Our wellness curriculum is integrated into our academic days.

Practice orals and practice CCFP-EM written exams will be offered throughout the year during academic days.

Combined academic sessions with the FRCP program fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion at our sites.

• Simulation Program:
  High-fidelity simulation is offered at least once per block with our highly trained simulation team. Residents can also join core EM simulation sessions during their EM blocks as well as in situ staff simulations.
• Ultrasound Curriculum:
  We have a strong POCUS culture at our sites, and we have many certified staff members and masters of POCUS. Our program offers a POCUS boot camp in the first month, a dedicated scanning block with QI of scans, POCUS procedure shifts and an advanced POCUS workshop in the latter part of the year. Residents will have the opportunity to become independently certified by writing their cPOCUS exam.
• Procedural Workshops:
  A bootcamp in the first block of the year will cover basic EM procedures (airway, central line and advanced access). Trauma workshops and other procedural workshops (plastics, ENT, ortho and POCUS-assisted procedures) are offered in the afternoons of academic days.
• HALO program: Innovative deliberate practice curriculum focussing on High Acuity Low Occurrence Procedures.
• Journal Club: Held roughly once every two months combined with the FRCP program.
