Western University's Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry has a long tradition of excellence, beginning with the founding of the medical school in 1881 and continuing with the formation of the dental school in 1964. Our mission is to provide outstanding education within a reasearch-intensive, distributed learning environment where tomorrow's physicians, dentists, health researchers, and other scholars learn to be socially responsible leaders in the advancement of human health locally, regionally, and globally. The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry has over 50 postgraduate programs accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. We have close to a thousand residents and fellows, and provide training in over 50 sites throughout Southwestern Ontario.
