Program Highlights

The goal of the McGill Urology Residency Training Program is to train competent urologists of high caliber with an emphasis on academic excellence. Our program offers broad clinical exposure to all areas of Urology, and excellent and comprehensive operative exposure to all sub-specialties of urology. Our program has a strong academic curriculum and residents have ample exposure to structured teaching. This includes twice weekly didactic and interactive teaching sessions, weekly Grand Rounds, monthly journal clubs, bi-annual OSCEs, and annual in-service exam. Our program offers early exposure to robotic surgery and an integrated MIS-simulation curriculum with onsite high-fidelity simulators. Our program offers numerous research opportunities in our many well-equipped and staffed Urology laboratories. Many of our graduates continue to fellowship in other North American Centers. Residents have the opportunity to train with internationally renowned, dedicated teaching faculty who are actively involved in one to one teaching. The faculty members of the Department include 22 urologists, 1 pathologist, 5 Ph.D. scientists and 1 radiation oncologist. There are currently 17 residents in our program who make up a very diverse and close-knit resident group. There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration within the resident group and the faculty.
